The Camp Beausoleil Reconstruction Project

These building reproductions and peripheral elements are part of a project to create an AR virtual walk through. In 1981 Camp Beausoleil a YMCA camp on Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay, Canada was demolished after a 50 year lease with Parks Canada expired. Three decades later a group of former staff and campers began to rediscover where all the buildings and other structures had been located in what had returned back to forest. The intention with these models and elements is to allow anyone visiting the old site of the camp to see them where they had been in the past through their hand held devices. Even to the extent that you could enter each one. Much still has to be done to complete this project. Work in progress.
